The orchards of the Minett UNESCO Biosphere

Between 2021 and 2023, the PRO-SUD municipalities actively collaborated with the Minett UNESCO Biosphere to identify, map and signpost the municipal orchards that are open to the public and where free fruit picking is allowed. The project, called Tutti Frutti, aims to promote these orchards at a regional level in order to combat food waste.

The project has been supported by the Ministry of Agriculture as part of “Operation Gielt Band” and the Ministry of Spatial Planning, as it plays an important role in preserving islands of fresh air and biodiversity in urban areas.
