Rivières

Rivers, Collaborative Management and Enhancement of Watercourses

Summary and Objectives

The “Rivières” project aims to enhance the rivers and streams located within the TNT territory as a shared cross-border environmental and heritage asset.

In line with the strategy of the Cross-Border Natural Territory (TNT) as well as regional and European environmental plans, the project seeks to strengthen local ecological transition initiatives related to water management.

It includes a series of activities involving a range of cross-border stakeholders, including water management experts, schools and municipalities.

The project focuses on:

  1. Establishing cross-border cooperation for river management (with a focus on the Côte Rouge, Crosnière and Réierbach watercourse).
  2. Raising public awareness of water-related challenges.
  3. Promoting soft mobility routes and industrial heritage sites along rivers and streams.

The project partnership consists of:

1 lead partner: Territoire Naturel Transfrontalier de la Chiers et de l’Alzette

4 financial partners: Grand Longwy Agglomeration, City of Differdange, City of Hussigny-Godbrange and PRO-SUD / Minett UNESCO Biosphere.

5 methodological partners: Nature and Forest Administration (ANF), SIACH, AGAPE Lorraine Nord, Meurthe-et-Moselle Department and the University of Luxembourg.
