MiNELL – The Minett Nature an Ëmwelt LéierLab also offers activities for school classes from the Minett UNESCO Biosphere and the rest of the Grand Duchy to enable school children to discover the biological, geological and industrial-cultural richness of Luxembourg’s South.
Escape Game Minett
Through two escape games, young people aged 10 to 14 (or older) discover the secrets of the biodiversity, geology and industrial history of two magnificent nature reserves, ‘Giele Botter’ and ‘Haard’, and the importance of preserving them.
On a journey through a former open-cast mine, teams solve puzzles at seven different stations and learn fascinating facts about the environment around them.
The games, available in German, are packed in specially designed backpacks.

Spring in the land of red soil
With open eyes and ears we walk through a typical spring landscape in the Minett region.
There we discover all kinds of life forms and try to understand how they are connected to each other and how they interact with their environment.
In addition to the scientific, natural and cultural-historical dimension, the sensual & playful aspects should not be neglected.

Minett INK: a graphic exploration of biodiversity
How to develop communication material to promote environmental education in an environmentally friendly and creative way?
Risography workshop using a Japanese printing procedure that works with soy-based ink (without the use of solvents). This can be used to create unique and unexpected brochures, flyers and posters.

D’Minetter Schof entdecken
Key animals in maintaining biodiversity
We go in search of the “Minetter Schof”, the red Ardennes sheep, which moves through our biosphere reserve and thus helps the existing nature in various ways.
By observing and analyzing the behavior of the sheep and their surroundings, we become more aware of their essential role in maintaining biodiversity in the landscapes of the Minett UNESCO Biosphere.
