The concept
Each month, the Minett Mash-Up Podcast takes its listeners on a journey. With the acceptance of the Minett UNESCO Biosphere into the UNESCO Man and Biosphere network, the Minett Trail was created. This 90km long walking trail through the 11 municipalities of the biosphere reserve connects the towns and villages of our region and brings the unique landscapes and outstanding industrial heritage sites to the visitors of the region in a sustainable way. After spending a whole year in the Kabaisercher of the Minett Trail in 2023 to record the different episodes of the podcast, this year our journey focuses on the partner organisations of “Industriekultur-CNCI”. Each month we will visit a partner organisation and introduce you to their activities. In 2024, we will also places in the neighbouring border regions of Saarland, Lorraine and Wallonia.
Each month, our podcasters meet young and interesting personalities who have a connection with the Minett or the greater Luxembourg region. These guests come from various backgrounds (culture, sport, music, business, research, …) and tell us about their experiences, as well as their current projects. The aim is to inspire young people to achieve their goals and to show them the wide range of opportunities that our region has to offer in various fields.
If you want to go on an adventure, discover the uniqueness of Minett through our podcast!
About us
The “Minett Mash-Up” Podcast is a collaboration between:
Minett UNESCO Biosphere
The Minett UNESCO Biosphere Reserve includes the entire Minett region and everything in it. Whether it is the natural landscape, the people, the natural flora and fauna or the industrial heritage.
Together with its many partners in the region, PRO-SUD is responsible for the management of the biosphere. By organising projects with regional citizen participation, awareness raising and research, sustainable development and a harmonious life between man and nature will be promoted in the Minett.
Industriekultur – CNCI
Industriekultur-CNCI asbl (Centre national de la culture industrielle) is committed to industrial culture and industrial heritage in Luxembourg. One of its main objectives is to establish a network of cooperation with museums and associations active in the field of industrial culture.
In order to preserve this heritage for future generations, the IK-CNCI develops, among other things, concepts for the creative use of old industrial buildings and sites. The non-profit organisation aims to bring industrial culture and people closer together through interesting projects and practical activities.
MUAR – Musée vun der Aarbecht
The MUAR – Museum of Labour – is an initiative of the municipality of Kayl in the framework of “Esch 2022 – European Capital of Culture”.
The MUAR is the country’s first museum dedicated to work, which, as a museum without walls, offers visitors the possibility of discovering the world of work from different angles, through various events such as seminars, conferences, concerts and information workshops. The project aims to complement the industrial and cultural heritage of the Minett region.
