CreaFuture

In-depth workshops on an environmental topic,

8-10 sessions over a three-month period

for children and young people aged 8 to 19

Our CreaFuture-LéierLabs explore an environmental topic, such as urban biodiversity, and use this knowledge to learn how to creatively shape a sustainable future. Participants will analyse local issues, look for conservation measures and then implement them. They will then share their findings to raise awareness among other children and young people of the importance of protecting the environment.

This programme encourages children and young people to become agents of change when it comes to sustainability.

Cap Futur 2024 at Lycée Guillaume Kroll: A project, bringing art and science together

For one term, Year 7 pupils explored the biodiversity around their school and in a nature reserve. In particular, they learned about plant diversity and pollination, and created areas that were both insect-friendly and aesthetically pleasing.

First, the youngsters deepened their knowledge of plant families and their ecological roles through sessions that combined theory and practice. They honed their observation skills and discovered the diversity of life forms using a variety of tools, including observation notebooks, scientific drawings and plant recognition applications.

In the second phase, the students participated in the design and installation of a green wall and the replacement of a lawn with a flower meadow. Through collaborative sessions they came up with creative ideas for the aesthetics of the wall and took part in practical activities such as preparing the soil, seeding the meadow and planting the green wall.

Finally, the students designed fanzines to share the results of the project. These activities developed their communication skills and gave them the tools to promote biodiversity and sustainability within their school and beyond.
