On Thursday 20 April, the National Platform for Environmental Education and Sustainable Development organised a new edition of the BNE Fair on the Geesseknäppchen campus.

This was the fourth edition of the fair, which is aimed at people from formal and non-formal education. Throughout the day, they were able to find inspiration and ideas in the field of education for sustainable development, which they could then implement in their educational activities.

After a first participation in 2022, the Minett UNESCO Biosphere was present again this year with its MiNELL programme, the “Minett Natur an Ëmwelt LéierLab“. Our stand was one of 70 information stands that allowed us to show visitors of the event how the environmental education programme of the Luxembourg biosphere reserve, an FNR Flagship project, is concretely implemented.

In addition, visitors to our stand had the opportunity to find out more about the workshops offered to classes and the training courses for teachers that we offer in collaboration with the IFEN.

In addition to the 70 information stands, the BNE Fair also offered more than 20 training and exchange moments in which visitors could participate. The themes of these activities ranged from renewable energy and Repair Cafés to agriculture and children’s rights. Fuse (Future Space for Education) was also on site, presenting sustainability-related topics every half hour.

After the strong interest of the fair visitors in the environmental education offers of the Minett UNESCO Biosphere, nothing prevents a new participation at the BME Fair in 2024.
