The Naturpark.lu Taste School came to the south on October 13th to offer a session of its taste awakening programme to the children of the cycle 2.1 class of Mrs Margot Bock at the Dellhéicht primary school in Esch-sur-Alzette. This workshop was part of the SUDTEC activities organised by the PRO-SUD syndicate.

After a brief description of the five senses, we humans have, it was up to the children to actively participate in the workshop by describing their favourite food.

The sense of taste was then discovered and stimulated by using two different varieties of honey. The children were made aware that the same food can have different tastes. Then they could realise that these tastes change again if apples or nuts are added to the different kinds of honey.

As part of the activities of the SUDTEC programme, which will continue until the end of the year, four other school classes from the PRO-SUD municipalities of Sanem, Dudelange, Bettembourg and Pétange will discover the variety of flavours until the end of October. In addition to the SINNvollLAB, CircularLAB sessions with cycle 4 children from primary schools in the south are also planned in the coming weeks. In this workshop, the children are made aware of the “circular economy”.
