On March 31st, the national Climate Pact Day 2023 was organised in Mondorf.
Representatives of the municipalities involved in the Climate Pact met to exchange ideas in technical workshops on the implementation of infrastructure projects to develop charging possibilities for electric mobility, the promotion of sustainable development in connection with the Climate Pact and the implementation of climate actions at municipal level.
Another workshop was mainly aimed at representatives of municipalities in the Minett UNESCO Biosphere, Agglo Centre and Nordstad regions. It was an exchange on possible synergies between the Climate Pact and regional cooperation projects.
The participating municipalities were particularly interested in the points aimed at increasing the potential of renewable energy and the further development of a safe cycling infrastructure to promote active mobility.
Two municipalities of the PRO-SUD intermunicipal syndicate, which manages the Minett UNESCO Biosphere, have reached the fourth and highest level of certification of the Climate Pact. These are Esch-sur-Alzette and Schifflange.
