Geoheritage Days

Last places available

For the first edition of the “Geoheritage Days” organised by the Minett UNESCO Biosphere in collaboration with the Natur- & Geopark Mëllerdall, a few places are still available.

The “Jurassic Walk”, on Sunday morning in Rumelange, and the visit of Rumelange’s coral reefs, on Sunday afternoon, are unfortunately already fully booked, but there are still places available for the other event.

Wéi kënnt d’Eisen an de Buedem?

This walk through the ‘Giele Botter’ will be guided by the palaeontologist Robert Weis, from the National Museum of Natural History, who will explain how, more than 160 million years ago, iron ore was deposited in the soil of the Luxembourg mining basin. Not only will you discover the uniqueness of the old open pit mine, you will also be given an insight into the history of the geological development of the Minett by a passionate ‘Minettsdapp’ who, taking into account his work as a palaeontologist, can explain the geological context in a coherent and competent way.

The meeting point for this walk, where the explanations will be in Luxembourgish, is at 9.30 a.m. and you can register via this link.
