The Minett UNESCO Biosphere, Editions Phi, the ‘naturmusée‘, the Luxembourg Commission for Cooperation with UNESCO and the Ministry of Energy and Spatial Planning are pleased to announce, a year after the geopoetic exploration of the Minett, the publication of the book “Rocklines – A geopoetic journey across the Minett UNESCO Biosphere”.
About the book
Geopoetics invites us to question the relationship between man and the earth, to open our senses and our intellect to the experience of life on earth and to arouse in us a sense of presence in the world.
As a transdisciplinary field open to research and creation, geopoetics has brought together literature and geography, while also involving philosophy and the arts.
The aim of geopoetics is to intensify the relationship of the human being to the world, to make it more harmonious, so as to be able to marvel, again and again, at the beauty.
(Rachel Bouvet)
Imagine a vast wasteland, made of dust and red stones, at the dawn of time. It is this earthly memory of Minett, the land of red rocks, that we transmit in this geopoetic travelogue, guided by the signs of the Minett Trail.
Industrial remnants, densely urbanised areas and surprisingly beautiful nature reserves are all part of a journey that transcends the direct experience of a landscape in the making and lingers within us, shaping the geography of our minds.
It is an invitation to a personal journey through the Minett, a land full of surprises that reveals itself to those who walk with an open heart.
Official presentation and other events
The official presentation of the book will be this Thursday, 14th of July at 6.00 pm in the lobby of the National Museum of Natural History.
