The city of Esch-sur-Alzette dedicates this year’s “Climate Week” to the theme Trees and Forests: Climate Guardians.
This week presents an opportunity to explore and better understand the fundamental role that trees and forests play in our environment and quality of life. Trees purify the air we breathe, regulate climate, provide habitat for numerous species, and offer us shade and well-being. Facing climate change challenges, efforts must be made to preserve our forests’ natural heritage and consider urban trees’ role as effective means to reduce thermal stress, which may become more frequent.
In this perspective, the city of Esch-sur-Alzette offers a series of events centered around trees and forests.
