A Documentary That Gives Voice to the Invisible
What do we really know about the people who grow the coffee we drink every day? This question lies at the heart of Sans un bruit (Without a Sound), a documentary that shifts our gaze from cup to origin.
The Service Écologique of Esch-sur-Alzette, in partnership with Fairtrade Lëtzebuerg, invites the public to a screening of this thought-provoking film on Thursday, 5 February at 7:00 PM at the Kinosch – Kulturfabrik.
A Journey from Guatemala to Ecuador
Through the eyes of three young agronomists, Sans un bruit travels across Latin America to meet the communities that conventional coffee trade too often renders invisible. The film documents voices united by a common message: the current model is unsustainable, and change is urgent.
Rather than offering simple answers, the documentary explores the complex landscape of alternative approaches—fairer, more human connections between those who produce and those who consume. It acknowledges both the successes and the limitations of these models, inviting viewers to engage with the nuances rather than settle for easy conclusions.
More Than a Screening
This event, part of the “Fairtrade Gemeng” programme, is open to all audiences. The 46-minute film will be followed by a discussion with the public and a convivial drink at Ratelach.
Participation in this event is free of charge, inscription (ecologie@villeesch.lu) is mandatory.
