Stammdësch de Belvaux
Staged reading from the authors' residency of November 2025
Date(s)
"Stammdësch" literally means "a table." It is also a traditional expression referring to "a regular and convivial gathering among friends."
As part of the eLo Interreg-project, Le Gueuloir, a cross-border collective of playwrights, has gathered citizens' voices, brought to light through urban legends, bar-counter anecdotes, and local stories.
For this edition, the collective invited authors Paul Mathieu, Fábio Godinho, and Aude-Laurence Biver to meet the residents of the Sanem-Belvaux area, a Luxembourgish municipality in the canton of Esch-sur-Alzette. The exchanges took place at the café "Theaterstiffchen - Beim Mimmchen."
Invited here, they became regulars at the same table, their "Stammdësch," where numerous meetings were held to collect intimate words and life stories.
Texts were born from these exchanges and have been brought to life through staged readings with the help of director Franck Lemaire.
Come and discover them on 13 February 2026 at the café "Theaterstiffchen - Beim Mimmchen," 15 rue Dicks-Lentz, L-4436 Belvaux, from 6:00 PM.
