KUFA SUMMER BAR : the Opening !

+ Vernissage & Concert & DJ-Set

Date(s)

08/05/2024 15:00 - 15:00

Every year, from May to September, the Ratelach (the Kulturfabrik bar) goes into summer mode and becomes the Kufa Summer Bar! With recycled furniture, lanterns and tables customised by local artists, our bar will be transporting you into its colourful and artistic guinguette every day from Tuesday to Saturday. Our thanks go to the non-profit organisation SINGA, who helped us give our furniture a makeover!

To mark the return of fine weather and our large terrace, we've planned an exceptional evening! We're unveiling the new Kufa Béier (which will be available free of charge from 5.30pm to 6.30pm). Still brewed by Brasserie Simon and in a limited edition, this time it's a 'New England IPA'. The label was designed by Luxembourg artist Damien Giuidice a.k.a Boy From Home. This inaugural evening will also mark the opening of his exhibition 'Between passion and pressure'.

On the programme for the evening (in addition to tasting the delicious Ratelach drinks):

VERNISSAGE OF THE EXHIBITION 'BETWEEN PASSION AND PRESSURE' BY DAMIEN GIUDICE - 6pm

The artist Damien Giudice (his Instagram right here), also known as Boy From Home, presents in the exhibition "Between Passion and Pressure" a comprehensive collection of his print artworks created since 2020. These artworks depict personal passions such as nature, music, monsters, and emotions. At the same time, they also reflect the constant pressure that artists face to assert themselves and succeed in their artistic endeavors.

The exhibition runs from 08.05 to 21.09.

DJ-SET BY ZEDUARDO - 6-8pm & 10-11pm

Get ready to tune your hips (or your prosthesis or other parts of your body) to an unpredictable and inclusive journey through coladeira, funaná, puxa, afrobeat, afro-funk and afro-disco!

CONCERT OLKAN & LA VIPÈRE ROUGE - 8.45pm-9.45pm  (Mediterranean techno)

Olkan & La Vipère Rouge are a family affair, two long-time friends who grew up together in the south of France. Their music, steeped in Mediterranean influences, is hot-blooded. Their live instrumental techno is as colourful as it is hard-hitting, combining Mediterranean instruments with vocals that can be as smooth as a 90s mobster's voice. On stage, the two partners make no secret of their sometimes almost punk influences from their 'Basse Ville' neighbourhood in Roman, which is also the title of their first EP, released on 10 November and available on all platforms and on vinyl.
