Konschthal Groovy Thursdays

In the framework of the Project Room RURALE BRUTALE by Claudia Passeri

Date(s)

18/07/2025 16:00 - 20:00

Once again this summer, the Konschthal is putting artists in the spotlight with four Groovy Thursdays evenings. Join us on four Thursdays to enjoy art, music, and a festive atmosphere.

Each of these Thursdays will be dedicated to one of the exhibiting artists – Julien Hübsch, Jeremy Palluce, Claudia Passeri, and Letizia Romanini – with a diverse cultural program specially designed around their artistic universe and the works they are presenting.

On the agenda: guided tours with multiple perspectives, performances, music, multidisciplinary workshops – all in a relaxed and summery vibe. It's the perfect opportunity to (re)discover the exhibitions by night, between 6 PM and 10 PM.

18h00 – 20h00

As part of the Rurale Brutale exhibition, Claudia Passeri presents a selection of recent works exploring the passage of the individual and their connection to identity, territory, and collective memory. Among them is the birth tree, or Conocchia — a rural Italian tradition in which a tree is planted for each birth, stripped of its bark, and decorated with blue or pink ribbons depending on the child’s gender.

To extend this reflection, artist Claudia Passeri invites you to a unique event: “The Cutting Down of the Conocchia”, a performance during which the Maggiaioli of Genga — who also prepared the tree for the exhibition — will cut it down into small logs.

The evening will continue in a warm and friendly atmosphere around a bonfire and a barbecue, encouraging conversation and connection among visitors. A heartfelt moment of sharing to collectively celebrate the symbolism of this tree, its transformation, and its new forms.
