Zoom MINETT

A travel guide for the region

Esch2022 – European Capital of Culture casts its shadow ahead. In less than 100 days, Esch-Alzette and the PRO-SUD region, together with the CCPHVA communities from the French border area, will be one of the 3 European Capitals of Culture.

In addition to a multitude of cultural events, our unique region should also benefit from this title in terms of tourism.

But how are visitors supposed to find their way around our region if they don’t know it at all? A new travel guide provides an answer to this question. Zoom MINETT presents the region and all its different aspects. The book shows 55 places and activities that should be seen or experienced when travelling through the Minett.

Also highlighted is the fusch new Minett Trail, a premium hiking trail, with its 11 “Kabaisercher”, scheduled to open in 2022 for guests from all over the world.  But hiking is not the only focus of the guide.

Culture and folklore, food and drink, industrial history and urban art as well as the architectural highlights of our region are not to be missed in the new travel guide Zoom MINETT, researched and compiled by the Esch2022 team in cooperation with the publishing house “Editions Binsfeld”.

There is also a special focus on the Minett UNESCO Biosphere. Since October 2020, the 11 municipalities of the PRO-SUD syndicate have together formed the Grand Duchy’s first biosphere reserve and are part of the worldwide UNESCO programme “Man and the Biosphere”, including 727 biosphere reserves in 131 countries.
